Yes I was unaware that a employee had STOLE the designs from Zeldman and PixelPlain...I have been working with the same one client for the past year and have always wanted to get a freelance site up to attract business. I paid a soon to be grad to do this and to be involved in future work. Again I didn't profit from any of this stolen work and took it down ASAP and sent emails to Zeldman and PixelPlain explaining. Should I have checked her references? Absolutely! I let her have complete control as she showed me the terific designs from Zeldman and PixelPlain and said they were her own. Seeing the designs I thought her work was great and just let her have at it. It was my responsibility but ABSOLUTELY NOT my doing. I also sent a letter to the dean of her college explaining what she did. Again, and for the last time, I do apologize to Zeldman and Pixel Plain for this situation. I have learned from this and I will neve let it happen again.
